In a scholarly world, it has always been important to track an individual’s research output and impact. Now, today’s focus on return on investment and cross-disciplinary collaboration has made tracking departmental and institutional research output and impact just as critical. In this open forum, representatives from several institutions will discuss their solutions, varying from homegrown databases to SciVal, from blogs to comprehensive faculty social networking tools. A brief panel discussion will be followed by a question-andanswer session, where audience members will have the opportunity to discuss their own solutions and ask panel members questions. The session will focus on the technology and tools needed to implement an institutional bibliographical database, authority control and database design, institutional usage, and librarian participation.
